TRY WILD
Reconnect together...

"The modern modern world still holds its magic, if only we can attune ourselves to its enchantments."
― Carolyn Larrington, Forgotten Folktales

Led by ethnobotanist and storyteller Pridie Tiernan, our TryWild experiences feature a rich mix of ancestral skills, folklore and stories for families and groups keen to reconnect with the natural world.

These private experiences can be delivered at the farm or a venue of your choice.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
ANDREA
SENSORY HERBALISM
These peaceful and relaxing workshops focus on getting to know some of our seasonal plants more intimately, using our senses and intuition as well as practical interaction and creative writing.
We visit a selection of native plants in the meadows; discussing our intuitive observations when we meditate beside them, exploring the sensations they provoke when handled, smelt and tasted, and connecting all these characteristics to their medicinal actions and practical use. We'll also dive a little deeper into their folklore and stories, and creatively play with some plant dreaming and poetry.
From five star tinder to ritual teas, healing vinegar, seasonal seasonings, and soothing bite balms, you'll definitely be leaving with a deeper connection to nature!
OGHAM TREE ALPHABET
Have you ever heard of the Celtic tree alphabet? This workshop introduces you both to the runic Celtic Ogham script, and the trees with which they are associated. We'll see which tree is associated with your birthday, share some folklore and stories about those trees and you'll even get to craft your own Ogham wand.
'READING THE GREEN' FOLKLORE & STORYWALK
These popular story walks are an hour long and take place at Cwmffrwd Farm Campsite.
During the walk, Pridie shares a magical mix of folklore and stories connected to our native trees, plants and creatures, as well as an exciting assortment of practical bushcraft and wilder life tips.

REWILD WITH FIRE
This hour long workshop focuses on foraging the right seasonal materials for a fabulous fire, methods of making flame (from the power of your mind to mushrooms and rubbing sticks together), tinder bundle construction, different types of fire lays and which wood is the best to burn! Tips and tricks that will make the world of difference when you next make a fire!
